For professional history, see my profile on LinkedIn. For the writing story, continue here …
I’ve always been a reader, immersing myself in stories and information. So I have absorbed language, with its rich vocabulary, patterns and rhythms. For the past two decades of consulting and academic life, writing projects have been directed my way, because colleagues knew I would produce the best results with least hassle.
So often, I’ve heard, “this is great! You should write!” By which the speaker means write books or articles for myself, rather than for other people. And I mean to. I have notebooks full of early draft books. But here is the painful truth: I don’t do it. I don’t make the time. I don’t sustain the interest.
But for a client, a colleague, a friend? I always dedicate the effort and time. I fling myself into the research. I delight in finding simple, novel, interesting ways to convey complex information and ideas. The words flow. And I never miss a deadline.
So out of a hard look in the mirror, INKorporated Business Writing was born. An embarrassing character flaw has become a virtue. I may not write much for myself, but I am a rock star at doing for other people!
Can I help take your business presence and credibility to the next level? There’s one way to find out.
